More and more farmers prefer the biologically effective method of pest control

Maxgrow Agro and Organic Invest Bio Protection, together with the Plovdiv Union of Grain Producers, organized a seminar on “Trichogramma is back in the native fields”. The organisers explained that now is the time to sign contracts for treating maize and sunflower areas with entomophages. According to specialists in the fight against the corn stem borer and butterfly species, a very important point is their flight period. For this purpose, it is necessary to set pheromone and light traps in advance in the fields where the trichogram is to be colonized.

Special guests at the event, which was held in the village of. Stryama, were two greats in the native and world science-entomologist Prof. Dr. Vili Harizanova and microbiologist Prof. Acad. Valentin Drozda.

At the forum, in addition to the method for controlling corn borer and butterfly species, were presented the microbial fertilizers of Global Agro Solutions, of which Maxgrow Agro is the exclusive representative for Bulgaria and nearby regions – Greece, Romania, Serbia.

“Bulgarian farmers are very innovative, they accept innovations and are not afraid to apply them, especially considering that our country used to be one of the first in the production of useful entomophages and microbial products. Today, when we talk about the Green Deal, about less use of pesticides, about integrated crop protection, about cleaner food, about alternative methods to chemical warfare, the topic becomes more and more relevant. The mindset of people farming arable land is changing. They are all convinced to keep the nature clean and to protect the microorganisms that work in the soil to increase its fertility”, emphasized Lyudmil Stoyanov, Marketing and Sales Director at Organik Invest Bio Protection and Manager of Maxgrow Agro.

The company has promised to carry out many demonstration trials where the results will be reported. Currently, large-scale farmers are already making their requests for trichogramma and microbial fertilizers. Applications have increased by more than 40% compared to the areas contracted last year.
