MAIN ECONOMIC PESTS OF CORN
Corn is exposed to various economic pests that cause significant damage to the plants and yield. The most dangerous of them are pests from the order (Lepidoptera), Cotton bollworm (Helicoverpa armigera), Grass moth (Loxostege sticticalis), Gray worms/Root-feeding cutworms, Black cutworm (Agrotis ipsilon), Field cutworm (common gray worm) (Agrotis segetum), Southern cutworm (Agrotis dissimilis), Garden cutworm (Agrotis exclamationis), Broadleaf cutworm (Agrotis obesa), Spring cutworm (Euxoa temera), Above-ground cutworms, Small field cutworm-Spodoptera exiqua, Gamma cutworm (Autographa gamma), Silver-spotted cutworm (Chrysodeixis chalcites), Cabbage moth (Mamestra brassicae), Garden moth (Lacanobia oleracea), Corn stalk borer (Ostrinia nubilalis).

Biological control with trichogramma
For highly effective, 100% ecological and biological pest control, we have developed special mixes of:
trichogramma evanescens, trichogramma achaeae, trichogramma brassicae.
These mixes are tailored to the crop and its vegetation, seasonal temperature norms, and the pest generation.
Application: Trichogramma achieves high efficiency in controlling pests from the order Lepidoptera (Lepidoptera) by destroying their larvae and laying its own egg in the pest’s egg. Subsequently, from the parasitized pest egg, a beneficial insect – Trichogramma – hatches.
The treatment with Trichogramma is carried out during the periods of mass egg-laying by pests, and it is extremely important for colonization to begin with the initial flight of the pests.
Trichogramma is introduced using two methods:
– For large areas, we use biodegradable capsules with Trichogramma eggs, and colonization is carried out with drones. You can see more HERE.
– For smaller areas, greenhouses, and gardens, colonization is carried out with boxes. They are easy to place, convenient for hanging, and ensure excellent coverage of the plants. You can see more HERE and HERE.
Regular monitoring of pests and proper application of Trichogramma mixes guarantee healthy plants and high yields, while also protecting the soil, water, beneficial insects, and the environment.
