MAIN ECONOMIC PESTS OF HEMP

Hemp is exposed to various economic pests that cause serious damage to the plants and yield. The most dangerous of them are pests from the order Lepidoptera, Spider mites (family Tetranychus), Grass moth (Loxostege sticticalis), Cabbage moth (Mamestra brassicae), Cotton bollworm (Helicoverpa armigera), and Corn borer (Ostrinia nubilalis).

Biological control with trichogramma
For highly effective, 100% ecological, and biological pest control, we have developed a special selection of parasitized eggs from trichogramma evanescens. These are tailored to the crop and its vegetation, seasonal temperature norms, and the pest generation.

Application: Trichogramma achieves high effectiveness in controlling pests by destroying their larvae and laying its own egg inside the pest’s egg. Subsequently, from the parasitized pest’s egg, a beneficial insect—trichogramma—hatches.
Treatment with trichogramma is carried out during the periods of mass egg-laying by pests, and it is extremely important that the colonization starts with the initial flight of the pests.

Trichogramma application is done in two ways:
– For large areas, we use biodegradable capsules containing trichogramma eggs, with colonization performed by drones. You can see more HERE.
– For smaller areas, greenhouses, and gardens, colonization is done with boxes. These are easy to place, convenient for hanging, and provide excellent coverage for the plants. You can see more HERE.

Regular monitoring of pests and correct application of trichogramma mixes guarantee healthy plants and high yield while protecting the soil, water, beneficial insects, and the environment.
