The package includes 100 biodegradable paper capsules, for manual and/or machine application over 1 hectare, containing eggs of Trichogramma brassicae, reared in a controlled environment for pest control against Lepidopteran species—specifically, the European corn borer (Ostrinia nubilalis). Treatment should begin at tasseling (when the tassel appears at the top of the plant) and continue until the beginning of flowering of the crop.

Trichogramma is an egg parasitoid that exclusively targets the eggs of Lepidopteran pests. In rare cases, it may parasitize the eggs of other insects.

It effectively suppresses pest populations by destroying their larvae and depositing its own egg within the pest’s egg. As a result, a beneficial insect—the Trichogramma—hatches from the parasitized pest egg.

Trichogramma preserves the ecological balance within its area of action and is 100% harmless to humans, animals, and plants.
It leaves soil and water completely unaffected in the treated area.

Application

Treatment should begin at tasseling (when the tassel appears at the top of the plant) and continue until the beginning of flowering of the crop. Trichogramma capsules must be applied within 5 days after detecting pest flight!
Capsule deployment can be done manually (up to 30 ha) or by drone application, ensuring an even distribution of 100 capsules per hectare.

Dosage Rate:

-100 capsules per hectare – For plant height up to 1.50 m and daily temperatures up to 32°C.

-120 capsules per hectare – For plant height above 1.50 m and daily temperatures above 32°C.

-Application period: From late May to mid-June, depending on environmental conditions and pest flight activity.

Important Notes: One treatment is sufficient for controlling one generation of the European corn borer (Ostrinia nubilalis). The second generation of Ostrinia nubilalis coincides with the presence of the Cotton bollworm (Helicoverpa armigera).

-350,000 eggs of Trichogramma brassicae (three generations of hatching).

Egg Hatching Process: Hatching starts within 12–24 hours at temperatures above 15°C. Each day, an equal number of eggs hatch over a period of 10–12 days (depending on average daily temperatures).

Storage:

-Up to 48 hours at a temperature of 4–8°C.
